Here you can find our support application form. If you want to apply for support at the Wacken Foundation, please fill in the form completely, save the document and exclusively send it to us via email to info@wacken-foundation.com.

Preliminary remark:

The Wacken Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law based in 24869 Dörpstedt, Hauptstraße 47, and dedicates itself to advance Hardrock and Heavy Metal music.

The foundation implements its purpose among other things but not only exclusively by the financial support for purchasing music instruments and also the required technical equipment, offering of a reward for concert prices, financing of costs which occur directly and indirectly from artistry resp. the training of talented young musicians.

Guidelines for Support Applications

In the following you can see the guidelines of the Support Application to the Wacken Foundation. They show you what you have to consider when applying to us for support. You can also download a pdf with the guidelines here.

 

1. WHO CAN BE SUPPORTED?

Artists, bands, songwriters and composers (writers), who work with metal music, can be supported. Especially bands without a labelpartner, publisher etc. as well as bands which already have a label partner or publisher etc. can be supported. But the maximum benefitted amount must not exceed 40% of the supported project, in case of doubt the sponsorship will transfer into a deficiency guarantee.

2. WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF THE SUPPORT?

The focus lies on the support of talents by making financial measures available to bands and artists in order to give them the opportunity implement certain projects.

3. WHAT DO I HAVE TO HAND IN?

The filled in Application Form has to be send to the Wacken Foundation via e-mail to info@wacken-foundation.com. The form and the explanation of the Application Form can be downloaded from the Wacken Foundation website, under the menu item Support Applications.

4. WHAT CAN BE APPLIED FOR?

You can apply for the implementation of concerts, tours, etc., for CD productions, for the purchase of merchandise material as well as an investment of travel costs. Especially activity which guarantees the professional progress, in judgement of all curators, will be supported. The board of trustees decides on granting and the amount of a claim. However, applicants do not have any claim on advance. The maximum benefitted amount is 5000,- Euro. In general the supports are grants (donations) and loans with no interest to be paid back within one year or a mixture of both.

5. WHEN IS THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS?

There is no deadline. Applications can always be handed in!

6. HOW OFTEN DOES THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES DECIDE ABOUT APPLICATIONS?

Several times a year, depending of the number of applications, a meeting of the board of trustees is being held and applications are being discussed. In case of possbile toursupport, there is the option of an emergency appeal. The benefitted amount must not exceed 40% of the entire charges for the tour. Your request has to be submitted to the Wacken Foundation at least 5 weeks before the beginning of the tour.

7. WHEN WILL BE THE DISBURSEMENT?

The disbursement will be made within a month after the decision on the application. The activity benefitted by the Wacken Foundation has to be proved with transcripts of bills, vouchers, receipts and so on.

 

We ask you to highlight, indicate or characterize all activity benefitted by the Wacken Foundation on your website(s), flyer(s), poster(s) by integrating the Wacken Foundation logo and hyperlinking to the foundations website.
