Advancement
Guidelines concerning the grant application of the Wacken Foundation read as follows:
Preliminary remark:
The Wacken Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law based in 24869 Dörpstedt, Hauptstraße 47, and dedicates itself to advance Hardrock and Heavy Metal music.
The foundation implements its purpose among other things but not only exclusively by the financial support for purchasing music instruments and also the required technical equipment, offering of a reward for concert prices, financing of costs which occur directly and indirectly from artistry resp. the training of talented young musicians.
1. Who can be advanced?
Young artists, bands, songwriters and composers (writers) can be advanced. Especially bands without a labelpartner, publisher etc. as well as bands which already have a labelpartner or publisher etc. can be supported. But the maxium benefitted amount must not exceed 40% of the supported project, in case of doubt the sponsorship will transfer into a deficiency guarantee.
2. What is the focus of the advance?
The focus lies on the advance of talents in the form of donating technical equipment, e. g. providing music instruments to give them the opportunity to make music.
3. Who is a young artist?
Those who have already appeared in the scene , e. g. by live gigs, releases.
4. What do I have to hand in?
You have to hand in an informal application in writing via e-mail info@wacken-foundation.com as well as an comprehensible calculation which illustrates the in-/outcome situation of the planned activity.
5. What can be applied for?
You can apply for the purchase of music instruments and/or technical equipment as well as an investment of travel costs. Especially activity which guarantees the professional progress, in judgement of all curators, will be supported. The board of trustees decides on granting and the amount of a claim. However, applicants do not have any claim on advance. The max. benefitted amount is 5000,- Euro.
6. When is the deadline for applications?
The applications have to be handed in til 15th July 2009 at the foundation.
7. How often does the board of trustees decide on the applications?
Twice a year, in the occasion of the Wacken Open Air Festival as well as in December. In case of possbile toursupport, there is the option of an emergency appeal. The benefitted amount must not exceed 40% of the entire charges for the tour. Your request is to submit at least 5 weeks before beginning to tour at the Wacken Foundation.
8. When will be the disbursement?
The disbursement will be made within a month after the decision on the application. The activity benefitted by the Wacken Foundation has to be proved with transcripts of bills, vouchers, receipts and so on.. We ask you to highlight, indicate or characterize all activity benefitted by the Wacken Foundation on your website(s), flyer(s), poster(s) by integrating the Wacken Foundation logo and hyperlinking to the foundations website.
