Wacken:Music:Camp

Meet like-minded people, make music and learn new things. There are no limits to creativity. Whether you are an advanced band musician or a music novice, everyone can start their own band at the Wacken:Music:Camp. Every year in August, young musicians from 13 to 17 years of age can compose, write, rehearse, record and perform their own music in Wacken. They are supported by renowned musicians and producers of the scene.

Since 2014, the elementary school in Wacken has become a metal camp for nine days every summer. Seven days later, the first stage experiences can be gained. Then the bands perform their own songs at the final concert in front of a packed audience.

The aim of W:M:C is to offer musical youth education in a somewhat different learning model and to inspire enthusiasm for music. The camp offers young people with the same musical interests an extraordinary opportunity to network and develop with professional support. The free experience of creative processes, team spirit and do-it-yourself attitude are the main focus.

The organizer of the camp is the association KulturRaum Steinburg e.V. in cooperation with the state association of music schools in Schleswig-Holstein. The purpose of the Wacken Foundation and the mission of the Wacken:Music:Camp go hand in hand - to bring people closer to the music of the heavier variety, thus helping to strengthen and expand this branch of culture. That is why we support this project.
