Wacken Music Camp 2023

The Wacken Foundation has made it its business to promote young talents and also to strengthen the metal offspring. Thus, there has been the annual Wacken Music Camp at the elementary school Wacken for many years. More than 20 participating children and young people come together to pursue their passion - metal music - and to get together with like-minded people, to make music together and to gain their first band experiences.
They are supported by experienced coaches, producers and band managers from the Wacken universe. 

In total, the staff of the Wacken Music Camp includes:

  • 12 band managers
  • 5 music coaches
  • 4 producers
  • 5 organizers
  • 1 kitchen manager :-)

During the week at the Music Camp, the kids not only get to know each other and can thus form new friendships and make music together - the newly created songs are also professionally recorded and remain as memories for a lifetime.

The conclusion of the WMC is traditionally the final concert in the country inn Wacken, where on Saturday afternoon the newly formed bands - this year 12 in number - present their songs live. This is also the first stage experience for many and an important part of introducing children & young people to live music culture at an early age.

We are amazed every time what is possible in a week and what songs are created each time anew. We hope that the young people will keep their passion and maybe we will see them again on the big stage at Wacken.
